Today we hit the back side of the New Jersey coast. It was a little slow to start with sporadic action with bluefish. Most were in the 5-6lb class with a teen-sized gator mixed in here and there. All fish were caught on top. I broke away from the rest to find the honey hole. Around 11am, I found tailer blues willing to take a Silver 4/0 Banger. Steady action for almost two hours with either a slap, chase, or a hook up on every other cast. Throwing the Scott 10wt for 2 hours and paddling almost 16 miles really takes it out of you!
Next weekend... a trip to the Potomac River in Western MD and West Virginia for some trophy smallmouth!
